Folders, Trash & tiles
Pin any folder and one click opens a live grid of its latest files, thumbnails included. The Trash gets its tile back — drops and all. And hovering an app tile shows a live window preview before you commit.
Downloads, screenshots, the current project — a folder tile is a window you never have to open. And the Trash takes drops, recoverable, always.
A folder tile opens a grid of its latest files with real thumbnails — newest first, one click to open. Your Downloads folder becomes a surface, not a destination.
Hide the built-in Dock without losing the Trash: Docksmith gives it a tile that accepts drops and opens the Trash in Finder. Files you drop are moved to the Trash — recoverable, always. Docksmith never deletes anything permanently.
Hover previews are off by default and optional forever. Turning them on asks macOS for the Screen Recording permission — used for these thumbnails and nothing else, never saved, never transmitted. The dock is fully functional without them.
